The Red White and Blue BBQ Chicken Sandwich

Description: This all white meat grilled chicken with red jalapeno bbq sauce and crumbled blue cheese will beat out any firework show this July 4th! The red jalapeno bbq sauce and crumbled blue cheese is the perfect balance that will have your friends and family coming back for more!!

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

  1. Set your BBQ Guru control to 325°F
  2. Set up cooker for a direct cook. (no drop pan over the coals)
  3. Slice chicken breasts in half, length wise
  4. Season with Obie Que Garlic Pepper Seasoning
  5. Cook at 325°F over the coals turning the chicken breast once until the internal temp is 160°F
  6. Take the bbq sauce and the chopped jalapeno and place them into a small sauce pot and heat for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. Add 1 tablespoon of honey to the sauce.
  7. Once chicken breasts are cooked, brush them with the red jalapeno bbq sauce while they are still on the grill and allow the sauce to set for 3 minutes. Remove and set them aside.                                   

Sandwich assembly:
Place some red leave lettuce on the bottom bun, then a little crumbled blue cheese. Place a piece of chicken down then more blue cheese and another piece of red leaf lettuce.
